The wedding quiz: twelve tables, two languages, one web app.
For a wedding with guests from two language worlds we built a quiz web app: scan the QR code, play as a team at your table, submit once. The couple followed the leaderboard live.

The challenge
The couple wanted a quiz their guests could play at their tables: scan a code, guess together, score points. The guests speak French or Portuguese, and every table carries the name of a city the couple travelled to together.
The requirements: nothing to install, no account, works on any phone, exactly one submission per table, no infrastructure cost and no personal data from guests. And the certainty that it works on the night, because there is no second chance.
The solution
One QR code per table. Each table had a printed card in the wedding's look, with the table name and a QR code that opens the app on the right table. An event code protects access.
Two languages, one app. Each table picks French or Portuguese. The questions came from the couple; we built them in both languages and checked the correct answers question by question.
Move freely, then submit once. An overview of all 22 questions shows what has been answered. Before submitting, a summary lists every answer, and each one can still be changed. Submitting only unlocks once everything is answered.
Nothing gets lost. Every answer is saved on the phone instantly. If the browser closes or the battery dies, the team picks up where it left off.
Fair scoring. Points are calculated on the server, never on the phone. The database accepts exactly one submission per table. In a tie, the earlier submission wins.
A leaderboard for the couple only. With their own code, the two of them watched the results live, refreshed every ten seconds, until the reveal in front of all the guests.

The evening: eleven teams, thirteen minutes, no glitches.
Eleven of the twelve tables submitted their answers, all within thirteen minutes. Every submission was scored instantly, without a single error.
The Paris table won with 19 out of 22, tied with Münich but ten minutes quicker to submit. Scores ranged from 12 to 19: hard enough to argue about, easy enough to enjoy.
Beforehand: a full rehearsal a few days earlier and a final test on the morning of the wedding, after which the leaderboard was cleared.
A quiz that simply worked on the night.
No app, no account
Scanning the QR code is enough. The app runs in the browser of any phone.
Bilingual down to the details
Each table plays in its own language; the leaderboard brings everyone together.
Fair and secure
Server-side scoring, one submission per table, no personal data from guests.
What this project means for you
Company event, client evening, anniversary or wedding: a small web app for a single evening does not have to be expensive, but it does have to be reliable.
We deliver the app in your colours, the print files and support right up to the evening, in your guests' languages.
Your project deserves the same standard.
Tell us about it in the intro call — we'll show you how we would tackle it.
